St. John’s Factory gets the go ahead

£2 Million Funding awarded to St. John’s Enterprise City

Grants of £2m each have been awarded to create two new technology business hubs in Manchester – with a goal of creating and sustaining 2,000 jobs over the next decade.The hubs will be based at Enterprise City, St John’s (on the former ITV Granada site) and Circle Square, the site of the former BBC Oxford Road building The funding, which is being allocated by Manchester City Council, was awarded to the city by the government’s Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS.)The city was awarded £4m in grant funding to be used to secure and refurbish a city centre property with [...]

London Road Fire Station announces a new series of tours to commemorate the buildings first Christmas in 30 years

Following summer sell-out tours of this iconic, Grade II listed building, Jonathan Schofield will once again guide the public through the historic corridors of London Road, to coincide with the Fire Station’s first Christmas in 30 years. Schofield’s summer tours attracted over 3000 attendees, igniting public interest in this much-loved Manchester landmark. Allied London holds first Homelessness Business Summit: 33 pledges made by local business community

Manchester’s business community came together this month for the first Homelessness Business Summit at the Old Granada Studios, on the future St. John’s neighbourhood site.  The event, which was a partnership between Allied London, Business in the Community and the Homelessness Partnership, highlighted different ways for the corporate sector to help the homeless back into employment, with 33 pledges made by the businesses attending.As part of its commitment to the Homelessness Charter, Allied London pledged to work with its partners, suppliers and stakeholders at Spinningfields and beyond to drive awareness of the Charter and the ways businesses can get involved.
