Allied London’s development, No.1 Spinningfields, has been recognised for its digital connectivity and sustainable design. This announcement comes only months after the development was named ‘Commercial Development of the Year’ at the Insider North West Property Awards 2018.

Home to D&D’s 20 Stories and leading corporate companies including PwC and American Express, No.1 Spinningfields has been awarded Platinum status by WiredScore. The certification company’s platinum score – the highest available – is awarded to buildings and redevelopments that offer ‘best in-class’ connectivity and considers factors such as WiFi strength and speed as well as connectivity resilience.

Additionally, BREEAM, the world’s leading sustainability assessment methods for masterplanning projects, infrastructure and buildings, has rated No.1 Spinningfields as Excellent, which places the Schroders’ building in the top 10% of the UK’s new buildings. No.1 Spinningfields has several high-efficiency features such as state-of-the-art LED lighting with intelligent control and a solar-optimised façade.

The judges of the North West Property Awards said No.1 Spinningfields “raised the bar”, showcasing it as a world-class commercial development in the heart of Manchester. It is particularly significant for Allied London as it marks the culmination of the Spinningfields’ masterplan.
