Off the back of the success of Hello Work, Allied London’s co-work brand launched in 2014, the award-winning urban developer has now launched a new co-work brand, All Work & Social.

Hello Work was launched in 2014 in Manchester and Leeds initially as an anchor and catalyst for Allied London’s workspace developments. Its success saw an immediate take up by freelancers, start-ups and SME’s as well as attracting partnerships with the likes of Google and tenants such as Sky and NCC.

In 2015, Hello Work launched OGS Works in the former Granada TV Studios, and its rapid success by the end of 2016 saw it voted as one of the top three co-work spaces in the UK.

OGS Works, Hello’s first operational space is now set to operate under the All Work & Social umbrella, which will open two more spaces later this year, XYZ Works in Spinningfields, aimed at the financial, professional and FinTech sectors and Dock Works at Leeds Dock, aimed at tech, media and gaming. Original brand, OGS Works itself will treble in size when it moves into the Bonded Warehouse at Enterprise City in January 2018, taking with it its thriving community of Music, TV/Film, tech and retail members.

Michael Ingall, Founder of Hello work and Allied London’s Chief Executive commented: “So what’s the big difference, why the name change? The difference is the addition of key social spaces, which will be attached to each location and offer members their own private members social club. As well as core co-work components: kitchen, event spaces, conference facilities and meeting rooms, the clubs will also accommodate social lounges, bars, cinema room, family spaces, casual and private dining.

Ingall continued: “Hello has taught us how to create workspace environments and communities. We have now evolved this offer as we unveil our third generation of workspace with a heavier emphasis on leisure. The social aspect of working is going to become ever more important as the definition of work continues to shift. People are working in different environments, in different ways and often on varied projects. They cannot get the atmosphere they need in pubs, coffee shops, bars or even many private member clubs where the focus is at the far end of the social spectrum.

“What we have learnt through Hello is that community is so important in the work place but that community needs a degree of privacy to continue more serious business in a different environment. All Work & Social aims to provide that. We aim to be a boutique specialist co-work provider focused on social work spaces, each one of our workspaces will have a connected social space. XYZ Social will be part of the XYZ building in Manchester, Dock 29 part of Dock Works in Leeds and Bonded & Grape part of OGS Works when it moves to the Bonded Warehouse towards the end of this year.

“At the No.1 Spinningfields building, All Work & Social will create the social club whilst global co-work network, WeWork will operate the co-workspace within the building. WeWork are an incredible brand and will attract a brilliant cohort of professionals to Spinningfields and to Manchester. No.1 Social, the social club to be operated by All Work & Social on the 17th floor will be the social space for the entire building and wider Spinningfields community.

“Our social spaces will be managed by specialist hospitality partners, following on from our successes creating leisure concepts including The Oast House, The Lawn Club, The Kitchens and Dock 29. I’m very confident that the new All Work & Social concept will offer something different and interesting in what has become a crowded and somewhat homogenous market.”

Piers Read, Director of All Work concluded: “The All Work product is geared around building vibrant and stimulating eco-systems. We are driven by our members needs in order to support their career aspirations and business ambitions. Our team has proven track records of building thriving communities and we value the benefit of like-minded people working in proximity to each other.

“Our ethos is simple. We believe workspace is about more than just the space. Our goal is providing our members with a platform for growth in environments that feel like home, over multiple locations. We make sure people connect, collaborate and create opportunities together to help realise their full potential. We believe very much that socialising is now very much the key to successful working and developing business. In particular event driven spaces and managed hospitality.”
